The Director of Development has the primary responsibility for planning, executing, controlling and evaluating the fundraising, public relations and educational outreach for Mother Teresa Middle School (MTMS). The Director of Development works closely with the MTMS Board, the Executive Director, the Marketing and Communications Coordinator, the entities it supports as well as all fundraising stakeholders to enhance the overall mission of MTMS and assure that ample unrestricted and program specific funds are generated.

The Director of Development is responsible for:

  • Donor Identification, Stewardship and Solicitation
  • Securing Annual Operating Funds
  • Sponsorships
  • Grant Writing and Reporting
  • Annual Appeals
  • Capital Campaigns
  • Endowment Campaigns
  • Planned Giving Programs
  • Fundraising Events
  • Branding, Marketing and Communications

Grant Preparation

  • Experienced, proficient grant writer with strong writing and editing skills
  • Proactively identifies and researches grants that fit the mission of MTMS
  • Identifies, writes and completes grants in a timely manner
  • Manages and follows up on successful grant requests


  • Identifies and sets objectives and goals
  • Creates and implements a strategy for monitoring goals
  • Evaluates the impact of projects
  • Displays accurate data analysis, presentation and record keeping skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • CFRE designation or working toward CFRE is advantageous
