Mother Teresa Middle School offers a comprehensive and unique learning experience that prepares students for success in high school, post-secondary and beyond. Our academic approach is rooted in today’s best practices for student-centered learning and is designed to develop passionate, lifelong learners.
Attendance
Student attendance is a critical school benchmark. We aim for 97% attendance annually and work proactively on many fronts to minimize absences.
Strength-based Approach
Utilizing our strength-based approach to learning, MTMS teaches students how to hone their skills as they discover and cultivate their unique gifts and talents. All students are assessed using Gallup’s StrengthsExplorer. Once strengths are determined, teachers and staff can use this information to engage students in goal setting and proactively apply strengths to their learning. MTMS provides enriched after-school programming, where students can test their emerging talents in a safe and nurturing environment.
Extended Day Model
MTMS’s extended day model gives our students an extensive support structure that enables them to grow and thrive. Over 40 after-school enrichment programs are offered at MTMS and they exist to supplement the education received by students during the day with comprehensive, character building activities and sports. After-school programming typically runs from 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and is often delivered with the support of volunteers in our community.
